Samar PNP shows other side of public service

CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar, June15 (PIA) - Forces of the Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) prove that they are not only serving the public through assuring their security and safety but also by creating some best practices where the public can reap benefits.


Provincial Intelligence Branch Chief Marty Munoz said that they offer other forms of services like free hair cut or  "Libreng Gupit, Sagot ni Chief" which came very handy this opening of classes. School children literally lined up for the free haircut in some municipal police offices.


Munoz also took pride about the other community outreach program called  "Police Magturutdo"  a program of the Samar Police Provincial Office that educate the students to keep them away from illegal drugs and all forms of crimes in society.


Meanwhile, Munoz reported that with the enhanced double barrel implementation, illegal drug use in Samar has significantly decreased. In addition, from March 31 to May 31 the police filed drug related cases to 20 persons within the 21-day operation. They have also confiscated 14 grams of shabu and 3.8 grams of marijuana.


As to special laws, they have also scored against four  cases for illegal gambling and that they have slapped charges against 22 illegal fishers.


Munoz said that they need the full cooperation of the public in fulfilling their duty to serve the Filipino people especially Samarnons. (ajc/nbq/PIA 8-with Pam Carcellar)

Albay reports huge increase in quarry income

Pangasinan school accepts transferees from Marawi

SSS formally opens its newly-relocated branch in Capiz
