PRRD to visit quake-hit Kananga, Ormoc City

ORMOC CITY, Leyte, July 13 (PIA) – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (PRRD) is expected to visit quakehit-Kananga town and Ormoc City this afternoon.


Upon arrrival, the President will conduct aerial inspection of damaged areas in Kananga and Ormoc City.


After the aerial inspection, the President will also attend a situation briefing at Ormoc City Airport.


PRRD will be met at the airport by Ormoc City mayor Richard Gomez and his wife, Lucy Torres Gomez, 4th District of Leyte representative; Kananga mayor Rowena Codilla; MGen Raul Farnacio, commander, 8ID; PCSupt. Elmer Beltejar, regional director, PNP region 8; and Mr. Allan Meode, CAAP manager.


Leyte Governor Dominico Petilla will deliver the welcome message, to be followed by an NDRRMC briefing by USEC Ricardo B. Jalad, executive director, NDRRMC and OCD administrator.


The President with cabinet secretaries will also hold a cabinet conference at a designated area at the airport.


The departments included in the cabinet conference are DPWH, DOH, DSWD, DOE, DTI, DEPED, DILG, AFP and PNP. (ajc/rvictoria/PIA8)

WV crime volume dips by 8.5%

ILOILO CITY, July 19 (PIA6) ---  The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 reported that crime volume in Western Visayas decreased by 8.5 percent. Data from the PRO-6 Crime Information, Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS) showed that 36,690 crime incidents were recorded for the period July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
